AIDSWalk Richmond relies on generous donations and fund raising efforts by the citizens of Richmond to support the development of future educational outreach events of the organization. Approximately 85 cents of every $1 raised will go directly to support community outreach programs provided by multiple clinics within the City of Richmond.
Does my company match my donation?
Your organization may offer donation matching programs which will double your community impact. Please check with your Human Resources associate to see if your company offers donation matching. You may also view a list of companies in the area which offer matching programs (Matching Gift Form).
Is my donation tax deductable?
Currently AIDSWalk Richmond is in the process of becoming a tax exempt organization. Donations are welcome although are not eligible for tax exemption at this time. You are welcome to make a donation to AIDSWalk Richmond at any time and once we become a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization we will be able to write receipts for the donations you have made. If you require a tax receipt, please let us know. Requests will be recorded and receipts will be sent out once our 501(c)(3) exemption status has been finalized. In the event our exemption is denied, your donation will be refunded if you wish.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
All donations will be recorded on a yearly basis through the signature event. There is no minimum donation amount, however, the more you raise the more AIDSWalk will be able to support the community.
Fund raising is hard and takes time. What do I get out of it?
First and perhaps the most important thing you can take from supporting AIDSWalk Richmond is PRIDE! Your hard work will in turn assist Richmond organizations take care of their patients and families. As an added bonus there are incentives for being a strong fund raising partner for AIDSWalk Richmond. Please check the Event FAQ's for more information on incentive prizes AIDSWalk Richmond offers.
Where does my donation go?
Approximately 85% of your donation will go to a community fund within AIDSWalk Richmond. This fund will then give AIDSWalk options to offer grants and donations to the multiple HIV/AIDS focused Clinics and outreach organizations of Metro Richmond. You may find a list of our beneficiaries on the Home Page. ALL funds raised in Richmond will STAY in Richmond. These funds will also be used for continued outreach services provided by AIDSWalk Richmond. Another great program to be offered by AIDSWalk Richmond is the creation of the AIDSWalk Richmond Scholarship Fund, which will be granted to an eligible student entering or continuing the study of Social Work and/or HIV/AIDS outreach or education.
